Hailsham shared ownership

Welcome to our shared ownership collection in Hailsham. A well-connected town ideal for first-time buyers.

Market town life and coastal connections

The lively market town of Hailsham, East Sussex, is a great place for your new home.

Latimer's newly built homes at Liberty Place and Summerhill offer the perfect place to put down roots and enjoy all that this location has to offer.

Hailsham is a very well-connected town, with fantastic rail links to London, Gatwick and the south coast. It's surrounded by some of England's most scenic countryside, namely the High Weald Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, and the South Downs National Park. It's less than 8 miles from Eastbourne too making it easy to enjoy a sea-breeze walk or a day on the beach.

What is shared ownership?

Shared ownership is a government-funded scheme that's an excellent way for people to take their first step onto the property ladder.

You buy a share of the property’s value (usually between 25-75%) and pay a subsidised rent on the remaining share. A key advantage is that you have a security of tenure on the share that you pay rent for that renting on the open market cannot offer. Over time, you can buy more of the property until you own 100%.

You'll need a smaller deposit at the outset than if you're buying on the open market. Generally it's a minimum of 5% of the value of the share you're buying, subject to conditions. You'll need to raise a mortgage on the rest of the sum required.
